[log4perl-devel] Perl warning when logging UTF-8 to screen

hi,

in Log4perl version 0.41:

when logging UTF-8 strings using the Screen appender, Log4perl prints
the following warning message:

"Wide character in print"

this can be fixed with the attached patch. i'm not sure if the bytes
pragma is supported in Perl earlier than 5.6 though.
