I held off on that pending the discussion on our thread 
'Log::Log4perl::NDC' regarding the problems around giving the user a 
reference to an object that might be invalidated.

But once we give the user a reference to a a layout, they can call

	add_layout_cspec('Z', sub {return 'bleargh'});

That's already taken care of.
