Not necessarily. But there's been two requests by different people and I put it in (almost) without messing with the existing code (see the latest checkin/mail, it's an additional helper script for Makefile.PL). And, we can keep doing what we're doing.

That one's not taken care of. But I don't see it as a big deal -- or is it?
I don't see 5.005_03-compatibility as a big issue -- if it gets in the way, we'll just drop it.
