I want to keep the master on Github to be unmodified mirror of the
Bazaar trunk branch. I guess, for this to work, I would have to create
another branch and pull into that branch instead and then sync with
Bazaar repository, somehow.

You could try to send me a pull request and I will try to figure out how
to do this.
