Progress

Well I thought it was time to update you on the
progress of the Location Proximity Warning System
(LPWS).

Okay, I have a working prototype which does most of
the basic functionality that was requested. The main
basic functionality missing is the persistent storage
i.e. saving the the list of locations to a file and
retrieving them later.

So it receives data from the GPS, displays the current
location and time, you can 'mark' or record positions
in the 'Locations list' and that list is sorted so
that the closest locations are listed nearer the top.
Their distance from the current position is
recalculated every 2 seconds.

You can add different types of 'location' to the
recognised types, e.g. Lights Camera, School,
MacDonalds.

Its currently running on a PC under Win98 both in the
debugger and standalone. Next week I'll look at
porting it to the netBook.
