How to install

Basically no installation is required. Download, unzip, click "CalSync.exe" and the application launches (.Net 4.x required, though)
However, we noticed that there might be some typical traps during installation / authentication.
For typical installation pitfalls, see: Typical Installation Pitfalls

Important information update, January 2020

The Google Authentication was temporarily blocked for some time, due to pending validation. In cooperation with Google, we've managed to finish the validation process. So, new authentications are available, again. The tool can be used by new users.

Bring the tool back to life

The project was not maintained since its last update in February 2015. The original developer of CalSync (its name was "lidsinker") announced in February 2012 that he will not continue maintaining the project because finally, he got rid of Lotus Notes.
In the beginning of 2015, when Google shutdown their old Calendar API, I (til7130) could not find a suitable alternative for my synchronization needs. So lidsinker gave me the permission to continue the project. I migrated CalSync to Google API v3 and that did the job for me.
in the meanwhile, I have not need for CalSync, anymore, because I am not working in a Lotus Notes environment anymore.
However, since I've tracked more than 15.000 Downloads over the last 5 years and still more than 150.000 Calendar API-requests per day, I assume that the tool is still very much in use.
So, when a user contacted me directly in the last few weeks, I recognized that the tool should probably be kept alive. And this is why I decided to go back to work.

Forecast / Roadmap

In spring 2020, parts of Google's Calendar API v3 will be shut down. (The batch processing which is used by CalSync).
So, what is planned for spring 2020 is to provide you with a new version of CalSync which supports Google's most recent version of the Calendar API.
This is the minumum that I would like to provide you.
Furthermore I've recognized that over the years a bunch of smaller bug-reports and feature requests dropped in. So, I could imagine broader enhancements or even a complete rewriting of the application, so that it adapts better to the nowaday's requirement.
However, this would be very time consuming and since I am a freelance software craftsman, I could only invest plenty of time, if there are donations to give me financial support. So, donations are highly appreciated and will result in a better product to reduce your daily pain with Lotus Notes

History

*Update (Feb. 23, 2012): Unfortunately for current users and future downloaders, but quite fortunate for myself, my company has migrated from Lotus Notes to Exchange (they finally saw the light). As such, I no longer have a Lotus Notes environment to develop in. Moreover, I no longer have any personal need or desire to further the development of this tool.

I am happy to hand the project and code to anyone that wishes to continue the development of the tool. I do not plan to make any updates/enhancements to the current version (1.7.2) so any current bugs will not be addressed by me.
