Currently MusE does not allow to use the same key as play/stop. By default these are setup: Keypad-Enter - Play Space - Stop Pressing space several times moves the insert point, first to the prior locator, then to the start of the song. > > Sorry can't help here. > > > I'd like to see some sort of auto-return... connected to the edit head > > someway perhaps ? Yes, depending on what you actually want. I think the normal way to do this would be to setup the locators (use middle and right mousebutton on the ruler) for the passage you want to record. Then you can do the recording, press space twice to get back to the beginning. > > > Could the "step-back" toggle (next to rewind) repeat instead of having to > > be clicked each time to move back/forward? > > Check the screenshot i've added to the mail. First of all, I find the [<<] and [>>] buttons totally useless in their current form, it would be a good improvement to make them auto-repeat. I have no idea how hard that is to implement though. Secondly, the new buttons you propose, are they for moving between the locators? It is possible from the keyboard (End & PgDn). Adding it to the gui seems like a good idea. I've been thinking about adding keyboard shortcuts for moving between markers (added in the Marker editor or by shift-clicking on the ruler), that would be quite powerful I think. > > > I can't assign the arrow keys to back and forward along the timeline. > > I've had to use "v" and "n". works OK but I have always used the arrow > > keys. Mmm, I think I can understand if that is annoying, I've had it happen also. If you use the keyboard alot it helps if it behaves similarily every where. > > > That's it for the moment. Indeed : ) To give a few hints on what Werner has been working on (as I understand them): - Graphical automation of plugin and midi parameters (whee) - Reworked design of the gui, both visually and the way you work with it. - DSSI synth support - Lots and lots of changes under the hood /Robert > > Greets, > Q > > > Best, > > > > Geoff. -- http://spamatica.se/musicsite/ |
