latest cvs 1.x. he's complained about the 'glue' feature before. the key here is many tempo changes it seems. what say you my digital Guru's?? ( ....and 'oh shit!' isn't an option ;) ) ------- Forwarded message ------- From: "barry mckimm" <bar...@ho...> To: "Geoffrey Beasley" <ge...@la...> Cc: Subject: muse bug Date: Tue, 18 Aug 2009 15:54:19 +1000 Geoffry, I have attatched the reipe as well. Muse Bug Create instrument track 4/4 at crotchet =120 Insert four notes in sequence each 3/16 duration followed by 1/16 silence Copy this bar to the next bar (bar 2) Copy this block to start at bar 5, then bar 9, then bar 13, then bar 17, then bar 21. Check each block and make sure the notes are properly aligned. Note there are 33, 1/16 spaces of silence between the end of the last note of a block and the first note of the next block At bar 13 change the tempo to crotchet =130 Bar 13 and 14 remain in alignment. The blocks at 17 and 21 are out of alignment There are now 28, 1/16 spaces of silence between the end of the last note of a block and the first note of the next block At bar 13 change the time signature to ¾. The block starting at bar 13 is in alignment. The remaining two blocks that should begin at bar 17 and bar 21 are out of alignment. There are 28, 1/16 spaces of silence between the end of the last note of a block and the first note of the next block. It appears that when the blocks are glued the notes sound as though they are in the original tempo and time signature. If the blocks are not glued the changes in tempo and time signature occur where they should. The glue stops the sound of tempo change from occuring. Aurally it is as though the tempo has not changed. With time signature change to ¾ the duration of each block is the same duration as for 4/4 and the silence between the end of the last note and the first note of the next block remains at 33, 1/16 spaces of silence. When more instrument tracks are added and the blocks occur in differing durations the glue causes the music to be unaligned. Barry _________________________________________________________________ |
