It was quite a while since I did anyting MusE-related, work has taken
all my time and I've also had (still have) RSI-problems. I have hardly
read the mailing-lists lately but I've had the time to take a very short
look at the latest things in the stable branch (haven't managed to build
HEAD yet...), and I've seen there's a terminator who has removed some of
my worst annoyances! The soloing stuff must have been quite messy to
fix, from what I recall, but it's soooo nice to have it working, thanks
to you all!
Any way, I've been doing some slax live-cds at work, livecd:s are a
really nice way to be able to demonstrate all these systems that are
complicated to set up, and qemu makes testing them a breeze... so it
didn't take that long to create a MusE live-cd. Robert is uploading the
first version of it, it will probably take an hour or so before it's up.
It contains qjackctl, MusE, fluidsynth and ZynAddSubFX
Things that are missing:
- some nice demo tune to push in the users face on startup
- some more demo tunes
- this probably means that we should bundle a nice, free soundfont with
the cd to use in the demo songs
- some more funny applications
It would be really nice to be able to do a live-cd for the upcoming
MusE. I need to be able to build it myself, outside the live-cd
environment first though, I wasn't very successful last time I tried it.
I saw that it came with a bundled MESS-ZynAdd though... Seems extremely
