Hello, made some progress with sync.
Open the midi sync window to see.
MMC messages can now be sent and received.
Some improvements MTC. MTC SMPTE format
is detected and displayed, and I believe (not sure)
MTC transport start is recognized.
Still no actual MTC synchronization yet, though.
* And you will find MusE should now rewind when a 'start'
message is received.
Tested with Ardour, Rosegarden, and my Roland TR-505.
** NOTICE: The (don't) 'Use Jack transport' feature is still a bit rough.
When it is 'off' AND external sync is 'on', it *WILL* cause MusE to freeze.
Therefore if you want external sync when Jack is used, please turn
'Use Jack transport' on ! If MusE is run without audio, like the -a switch,
then everything should be OK, no matter the 'Use Jack transport' state.
This may be the trouble Alan was having.

Like to thank my friend Bobby Van B. for the TR-505.
That variable tempo adjustment sure came in handy.
Out of the blue for no reason he sent it to me in the mail !
If you're out there, thanks.
