The "pre-loading" of recorded notes is done in midithread.cpp. I'm not sure whether it works to put the 0.6.2-version of that file into the 0.6.1-tree, and what it would mean if it doesn't work when using that one. But if it _does_ work the pre-loading should not be the problem either. Might be worth a try.
