Most splendiferous news indeed Timothy! I couldn't have hoped for a better response than that!

Hi list!

2.1 is sounding great - shame I can't use it at all yet!

Did Tim and Robert notice the recent release of the new Radium sequencer? Amongst many other new features, 1.9.x now features VST plugin support which he has unashamedly borrowed from qtractor

The new 1.9.x series of Radium has a lot of new features:
* Audio.
* A quick-to-use modular mixer. Jack ports can be inserted anywhere.
* VST plugins and instruments (native, not via wine)

and Rui Nuno Capela for QTractor. (Plugin GUI code are based on code taken from QTractor.)

I realise you want to get a couple more bugs squashed before 2.1 first but

make VST plugin support a priority after this release - pretty please!

LV2 may be the future but VST has all the existing plugins

Thanks devs!

Hang in there, Robert and I were discussing this and we are going ahead

with the native vst.

I started but decided better get the 2.1 ready first.

The problem is it requires some changes to our plugin and synth system,

which are slightly LADSPA and VST centric.

Not really something I want to throw out there in the 2.1 release.

But the good news is that we believe we can leverage our existing

code in our old defunct vst module - which used the old FST.

I took a look and have started modifying that vst module with initial

success in the scanner and loader sections. It's do-able I think.

It better be! He he. I am super-revving to go on this but be patient.

But it is here where the work must now branch into our plugin and synth code.

This work is necessary, also a good "warm-up practice" to prepare for LV2.

So I had to stop while we make ol' MusE clean and happy for 2.1
