I noticed this the other day, but I didn't have time to debug. Then I
also saw this report with a patch on sourceforge today:

It looks like there is a problem with malloc when compiled against
glibc-2.10 on an x86_64.

I know that you folks are close to releasing 1.0. I just didn't want
this to go unnoticed as it is a show stopper. Sorry for the spam if
you were aware of the problem.

Thanks for the heads up,  I did see the report but I'm gonna add the patch now, so it won't be forgotten.
