Vam is useless as presets are not restored when the song is
    opened.

It is impossible to write songs with it as when you reopen
the song all synth parameters are lost... Even when I try to
save or store preset before closing the song.

For this reason I never use any of Muse virtual synths -
when I open the song I need to manually turn all the knobs
    on the synths again.

It was tested on muse 0.7.2pre3

Unfortunately several of the current crop of softsynths do
not save their state data. And it basically make them
    useless in a song context.
The current set of internal synths are:
Organ, Fluidsynth, S1 ,simpledrums, deicsonze and VAM

Only Fluidsynth, Organ and Simpledrums store settings in a
    usable way.
In MusE 1.0 atleast Deicsonze will handle this much
    better.
VAM is a nice synth that really should be fixed in this
regard, but noone is looking at it at the moment.

Probably the others should provide a popup box like S1
does... see what I can do about that

Now all synths but Deicsonze save and restore their state
when used. For decisonze this is coming in 1.0 version of
    MusE.
