Currently there is no support for lua pattern match with forbid (or hide). This might be possible. Please create an issue at github.com/TACC/Lmod which shows an example of what you are looking for. We’re running v8.7.6.5 and attempting to limit module availability by lua name pattern matching using the forbid{} function in a /etc/lmod/modulerc.lua file.
