Any reliable Mac ports of LMMS out there? I have an interested college, but the Wine and cmake/build methods turn him off. Is there someone on here that has capabilities of packaging it? Should I get a hackintosh together and try to contribute this myself? -Tres -- - Tre...@gm... |

FYI I was told to run mac in virutal box it must be run on native mac hardware. I can confirm no problems on a vbox vm that i have running on my mac book pro and its 10.6 which its running on. The goal would be to offer an installer on the main download page. Unfortunately my options are limited so I'll take what I can get. Unless the nightly build fixes OSX specific items, I'd recommend stable? -Tres On Fri, Feb 10, 2012 at 11:11 AM, Jonathan Aquilina <eag...@gm...>wrote: > On 10/02/2012 17:04, Tres Finocchiaro wrote: > > FYI I was told to run mac in virutal box it must be run on native mac >> hardware. Hi, LMMS already successfully has been built via MacPorts, see e.g. https://trac.macports.org/ticket/18830 or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V63HSqzNu-s Anyways I don't know how current versions work on OS X but there shouldn't have been notable changes. Toby |

Toby, Just a heads-up, the YouTube video you posted is actually using Darwine, not native. I've quoted the YouTube author's description that verifies this: "Then I got the idea to use the Mac version of Wine emulator, WineBottler, > to try and run LMMS. It worked almost perfectly. " -jackspic3 via YouTube Jonathon, Thanks for your response and for offering to look into this. I am trying to obtain an intel Macintosh this week so I can help test. If anyone on this list has an old one they'd like to offer up, let me know via separate email. -Tres -- - Tre...@gm... |

If the project sees a large demand for PPC, I do have some of that hardware lying around we can use, but it's pretty slow. >From my understanding, there's a lot of Mac projects that only target newer Intel based models for recent builds. Are there any known dependencies that one needs to install to be able to compile and run this great program? |

Sorry to bump a 2 year old email, but the fix was: sudo port -v install pkgconfig seemed to fix this. This was particularly misleading because it appeared to be installed already. [image: :8ball:] I'm responding to the original thread because it is what turns up in Google when you search for this error. |
