Subject: [LMMS-devel] Midi keyboards...
Hi, I don't know much about midi keyboards + hardware connections to
computers so forgive my ignorance.

But say if I were to hook my keyboard up to my computer via a usb
midi connector, would it be possible for me to open a sample up in
the piano-roll editor and hit the record button and play the notes
on my keyboard, would the keys i play on my keyboard then correspond
to the notes that would display in the piano roll?

Again, I have little knowledge of this, but any help would be
appreciated..

Thanks.

Hi Andrew,
It's perfectly possible , and not difficult at all , so I wrote a little tutorial to get you (and others) started.
You can find it here : http://freqrush.blogspot.com/2007/06/howto-play-samples-with-lmms.html
If you have a MIDI keyboard , that's great but if you don't , don't bother to start already , as you can draw your notes in the pianoroll editor.
Ofcourse any comments are welcome , so I can improve the tutorial.
Cheers,
Peter
