Sorry, didn't noticed the tread before.
Yes, of course I can provide a separated patch just for this preset-loader functionality. 

As for a progress, nothing really new lately.. It lacks testing for a non-Linux platform, anyway I think I should be able to handle this in quite near time horizon (for Windows).
