I have linux Redhat distribution and have succesfully downloaded the file. I done the command:

tar xczf lmme-0.5.1.tar.gz and it appeared to extract the files successfully into it's own directory. I proceded to follow the readme instructions, however it did not work. I know this is basic stuff, however I would appreciate if someone could just give me some pointers.

sh congigure gives me the error:

error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

    (N.B. in all honesty I don't thin I have a c compiler)

I know this is blatently obvious to someone, and probably beneath yourselves to exert the energy to reply, but please i need to learn!!! ;0)

    Thanks in Advance

    Regards

    Lewis

You'll want to get GCC and G++. Also, having automake/autoconf/autoheader would help.

You'll also need the NCURSES and PTHREADS libraries. Search http://rpm-find.net
