Hello. I also have a patch for LKCD, based on the 2.4.21 kernel, that allows for network dumping, and wondered if there would be any interested in merging it with the patches given by Prasanna (I'd been trying to contact project maintainers directly about them for a while, but I should have probably posted here instead). My version abstracts the output interface (similar to netpoll, if I remember correctly), and allows them to be modularized. Multiple modules can be loaded onto the main LKCD driver, allowing for outputs to multiple targets (swap partition and network target, multiple network targets in case one fails, etc.). I've also updated the /etc/sysconfig/dump and lkcd_config to support the new features (loading of modules instead of the old interface method of specifying dump target, etc.) I also have source code for a server that runs on the remote target, to receive said crash dumps. Is there any interest in these features? John Whitney |
