#2 can not log in to admin page

I have configur the app as the y described in the
installation file, but am stomped on #4

4. ......Open atho.inc.php in the admin dir Put
a username and password.

What does this mean...

There was a $PHP_AUTH_USER and
$PHP_AUTH_PW, i assigned a username a dn
password, but i was still getting

"You must have a username and password to enter this
page in "

i am also facing the same login prob. in the ADMIN area of the
LizardCart. i have tried to use the following info as well but
still not working...
user: admin
pass:123456

somebody please tell me how to solve this admin pass: prob.
