I just installed Fedora 8, LiVES (and all other related packages).

When I start LiVES up it displays the following:

Succesfully loaded 45 Weed filters
Loading default keymap from /home/ken/.lives-dir/default.keymap...done.
JACK server started
Starting GUI...
xmms...detected...cdda2wav...detected...jackd...detected...dvgrab...NOT DETECTED...

Window manager reports as "Metacity"; temp directory is /tmp/livestmp/
Compiled with jack support, good !
Welcome to LiVES version

But in the terminal window that I started it from, this is outputted:

JACK compiled with System V SHM support.

could not attach to JACK server
ALSA: poll time out, polled for 31998720 usecs
DRIVER NT: could not run driver cycle

Does this mean something? Or at least anything important that I should do something about?

Also, I am trying to get mplayer to capture video/audio from my bt878 capture card. This is the terminal ouput I get. In the mplayer viewer I just get green - and no audio:
