Hi, I am currently in the process of upgrading LittleGoblin to Grails 2.0. Grails 2.0 brings many new features and a lot of improvements: http://grails.org/doc/2.0.0.RC3/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHUPLOnUF4g To upgrade an existing source code installation of Little Goblin, download Grails 2.0 http://grails.org/Download (select the latest milestone release) and install it. Update your LG source code the new current version. Then, in the project's folder (from the command line) run "grails upgrade". You may need to re-install several plugins $> grails clean $> grails install-plugin jquery $> grails install-plugin webxml $> grails install-plugin spring-security-core $> grails install-templates I have deactivated the webtest plugin as the maven repository for it seems to be down. To work with Grails 2.0, you will probably need to update your IDE (either the Spring Tool Suite or IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate in their current version should work). Regards, Ingo |

Hi, the equipment bug should be fixed now. I added some more features to the shop - it's now possible to specifiy the number of items you want to buy / sell. When you buy stackable items, they are combined with the ones in your backpack automatically. And I started with the ItemAdminController, which is goig to be some work (should be done in two weeks, I guess). Originally I wanted to finish the registration part today, but that will have to wait until late September, I guess. Best regards, Ingo |

Hi Flora, you have indeed found a bug - the equipment handling is currently broken, it seems (mea culpa). I tried to fix it, but it seems I will have to take some more time to do so - currently I have two inventory templates, and they are used in various places. Hi, I am going to move the test system and the documentation project to a new server. Therefore, schedim.de and littlegoblin.de will experience some downtime today. (It takes some time for DNS updates to propagate). Best regards, Ingo |

Hi, I updated littlegoblin.de and schedim.de with the latest versions, including the new list of QuestGivers (which will probably be renamed to QuestMasters someday). Thanks to Pauline for the new design for littlegoblin.de I took the liberty of adding a "Home"-link, because the logo-link may not be obvious to all visitors. Best regards, Ingo |

Hi, Yes, you may remove the inventory from all pages - I think the pages that need it will require some overhaul (so that the items *are* shown if needed). If you encounter div's that are not used at all, remove them. Note that empty div's with ids may be used via jQuery / Ajax. For example, something like <div id="playerMessages"></div> may receive content at runtime. Hi, The design should be ok on most of the pages. I cannot access some of them IG so I'm not sure the layout will show as expected. I'll clean the code and make some changes (like using a smaller banner and remove the inventory). Will the inventory be removed from all the pages? This means we could skip to a 2 columns layout :) Question: can I remove some divs that are not used? Right now I put them as comments but it may be better to remove them altogether? Best regards, Pauline |

Hi, First, thanks to Pauline for changing the layout / design on several further of the pages to match the front page. I am currently working on an inventory page, where the player can move items from the character's home to the character. The inventory list will become obsolete in most cases, the reasoning being: a) In many places, it is not necessary to show the character's items - if he or she visits the guild hall, the inventory list is not going matter to whatever the player wants to do there. b) In other places, it is (or will be) redundant to to lists in the center or main column [Post Office]. So, I want to move the inventory list to an extra page accessible from the town view (and perhaps from other pages). Best regards, Ingo |

Hi, welcome to the new Little Goblin mailing list. I want to move the discussions about LG to this list, rather than have them in the Projet Pro Google group. I suggest we use the Google group for stuff that is only relevant in the context of the Projet Pro. So, what is this mailing list about? Here you can make suggestions and feature requests, ask questions and post your thoughts on browser game development. If you need help getting the project to run, applying changes or want to coordinate your next patches, this is the right place. The mailing list is public, so I hope that we will get some more users here and enjoy lively discussions about LG :). Best regards, Ingo |
