Hello all. I'm trying to use the IR interface of my notebook to receive a tv remote. If I monitor /dev/ttyS3 with a simple program (set dev to 115200 7n1, loop {read a char and print it as binary}) I can see that the serial interface receives something, so the HW side should be OK. But when I try to insmod lirc_sir or lirc_serial I usually get a complete freeze (so complete that even SysRq doesn't work! - just once it didn't crash but then *mode2 reported nothing). Obviously I tried insmod after "setserial /dev/ttyS3 uart none", as suggested when compiling. Isn't it possible to use the serial device as a source, instead of having to use kernel modules? The notebook is an Acer TM525TE, all ALi-based. FIR mode is handled by ali-ircc module (unloaded at hang time). Any hint about what should I try? Tks, Diego. |
