It looks like this is possible, but a bit awkward to do with the the -c option to relay messages from other systems running lircd. To do this would involve writing a custom inet server that would have to listen in the background. I think this is a needed feature, and it could be implemented nicely by adding another command to the client protocol. Currently the lircd listens for a few commands: "SEND_ONCE" for example. We could add a "SEND_RELAY" command which would include the command to relay. The rc command could be used as is to inject/relay messages. I'll try this out.
