Subject: AverMedia TVphone98 TV card - remote control doesnt work :-((( Hi! I have the TV card AverMedia TVphone98 (with radio) and remote control installed with latest lirc driver v0.6.3 from webpage. TV card is going well, but I have problems with the remote control, here is my story how I tried to install it (first,I read documentation about lirc driver to know what to exactly do): My system: kernel 2.4.4 with bttv driver included (original from kernel), single Intel box (everything works under Win98) 1.) my compilation and installation: I run setup program -> I choose my TV card type = avermedia98 13/41 -> I add "alias char-major-61 lirc_driver" to /etc/modules.conf -> I try to run mode2 program -> I receive a message containing something about "no sense" -> I check if lirc kernel modules are loaded (lsmod command) -> No, they arent so I decided to install them by hand :-(( (IRQs are O.K., the remote control surely works, tested under W98) 2.) installation by hand: I run modprope program with additional args : modprobe lirc_gpio=0xf88000 gpio_lock_mask=0x10000 gpio_xor_mask=0x10000 soft_gap=0 sample_rate=10 card=41 (These parameters I found in lirc docs about AverMedia cards) -> Great, it seems to work - lsmod command doesnt lie, lirc kernel modules -lirc_gpio and lirc_dev - are installed now -> In system log appears this message (is it O.k?): lirc_gpio (0): driver registered 3.) Trying the remote control: I run the lirc daemon by hand, I set correct config file for AverMedia cards - lirc(d/m).conf.avermedia98 - and lirc device to /dev/lirc -> In sytem log appears this (it still seems to work): LOG: lircd(avermedia98) ready I run irw program and in system log appears (Thats the problem): LOG: lirc_gpio: (13): cannot read GPIO I suppose that something is wrong with config file, so I try irrecord program, but nothing happens, when I hold an arbitrary button on remote control ... :-((( And thats all, I dont know where is the main problem. I hope you help me. I will be very grateful fo any suggestion how to solve it. Thanks, Dave ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dave Sumsky First, they ignore you then, they laugh at you mail: xs...@fi... then, they fight you tel: 0605/883 818 and then - you win!
