Well, I tried all the standard COM port settings and had no luck. when i load lirc_sir with com's 1 and 3's settings (irq 4, 0x03f8 or 0x03e8) or the fir device's resources (irq 11, 0xffc0), the module loads, but doesn't work. with com's 2 and 4 (irq 3 0x02f8 or 0x02e8) the machine locks hard. When I load the serial module, it only shows ttyS00. No other serial ports. Also when I run the irda utility "findchip" I get no output. I guess I might try some DOS irda utilities next. > > Just in case this IS the correct sir-mode irq and > iobase: > Your suggestion about one IRQ for all devices on PCI > might be true, but I'd give it one more chance: try > to set IRQ for the IR device manually, using > 'setpci' > command.
