Linus has changed the Makefiles in the prerelease...
Patches should be available through CVS after this week-end.

bttv-lirc with 2.4-xfs-pre SMP

I got a problem with the installation on the above mentioned system.
I got a Haupauge 878, and the bttv drivers in the kernel. Kompilation
of the lirc drivers works fine, no error, the devices are created, and i appended
the line 

alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c

to /etc/modules.conf

but i cannot load the module, because it was not build. modprobe doesn't find
it and i can't find it in /lib/modules/2.4.0-XFS-prerelease/misc, too.

irrecord says the follwing:
irrecord: could not open /dev/lirc

but the device is created:
crw-r--r--    1 root     root      61,   0 Jan  5 04:12 /dev/lirc
srw-r--r--    1 root     root            0 Jan  5 03:32 /dev/lircd
prw-r--r--    1 root     root            0 Jan  5 03:11 /dev/lircm

any ideas ?

I just uploaded a fix. I can not fully test it as my gcc version is too
old to compile the kernel. Please tell me if it works.
