Hi all, I'm running OpenSuSE 11.1 on a DELL Studio 1735 and almost everything works well except the IR port. The notebook came with the DELL Travel Remote Control. On pre-installed Windows Vista using this remote control in multimedia apps is no problem. But on Linux I have several problems to get it running. The IR chip is an ITE8708 (I/O 0x0300-0x0307, IRQ 10) which is detected by "lshal" and "YaST->Hardware->Hardware-Informationen" as an ISA-PnP device. But I don't know how to proceed to get the remote control running. When I'm running "YaST->System->Einstellungen für /etc/sysconfig" to setup lirc in "Hardware->Lirc" my changes won't obviously not be taken into an /etc/lirc.conf. And (re-)starting the lirc daemon will then fail... I think that any lirc related packages are installed. Who can help me in detail? If required, i can send the hardware-info output file via email. Many thanks in advance! Helmut |
