Hi. I am now even more confused! I've never heard of UIR mode. I will try what you suggest, you should know how it works, after all. I thought the config file for the mce remote would also require you to use the associated mce receiver, which I don't have. I'm at work at the moment, I have ssh access to my box, so I can try different config files, but I have difficulty pressing remote buttons from here to test if it works! I could mail my gf at home to try pressing some buttons. Fingers crossed!!
