LIRC with PixelView Playtv Pro BT878

Hi,

My hardware details are as follows:

TV Card: PixelView PlayTV Pro2

Remote Control: RC bundled with the above card. The only
identification that I get from this RC is the number HH-338 engraved
on the body.

In the web though, I see a different RC device part of the TV card.
May be the pack I got is  assembled locally in India.

The module options I used to make the card work with xawtv and MythTV are:

rtnair@nila:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/tv
options bttv  card=3D72 tuner=3D37 radio=3D1

LIRC version: 0.7.2
Kernel Version : 2.6.8-1-386

Compiled and installed lirc without any problems. The driver I used
is: pixelview_pro
Now I am stuck with the testing phase as I get the following output
while running irrecord:

nila:~# irrecord -f /etc/lircd.conf
irrecord: gap not found, can't continue

this message appears after about 10 seconds. during the time, i kept
on pressing a button, as directed by the program.

lircd.conf is copied from lirc-0.7.2/remotes/pixelview/lircd.conf.playtv_pr=
o.

on running irw, it just keeps the cursor as though waiting for some signal.
Cannot decide if the device works or not.

Somebody please help me as i am with it for the past few days.
