Can not install irxevent on DSL

Hello,
I\'m using DSL (Damn Small Linux) in Version 2.
I want to install lirc to controll xmms. After a few problems, I could install lirc, but the xmms-plugin doesn\'t work on DSL. So I thought that I could use irxevent, to send commands in form of a key-press to xmms. But now my problem:
There isn\'t any irxevent on my system. I had a look on the log of the configure-script and there i\'ve found the problem: The script doesn\'t find my X11-System, so there is no reason to compile irxevent. How can I solve this problem? Where does the configure-file search for the X11-System?
Would be nice, if someone could help me :-)
