Hey everyone, I have a General Instrument DCT1134 that I am trying to get to work with an IR Blaster. I tried the Motorola DCT2000 configuration file and it worked but it was very spotty. I would get one or two numbers and only if I held the IR blaster at a certain angle and certain distance. After an hour or so of being frustrated I took off the cablebox front cover and held the ir blaster directly to the cable box reciever. Only when I held it there would I get a somewhat reliable channel change. In any case I feel that the problem stems from the configuration file and the frequency or gap settings (I really don't know much about this so I could be completley wrong). I tried a couple of different frequencies and got varied results, some would work at a distance from the cable box (1 foot) but not when it was any closer. In any case my question is what should I try to modify to get this to work? I would try to irrecord but I have a PVR-350 and the ir reciever wont interact with the cable box remote. Or at least that is my understanding since the PVR-350 works on the RC-5 protocol and irrecord sems to work just fine with the PVR-350 remote but not the cable box one. In any case, any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Dan |
