Lirc_sir and verify_area()

Hello,

Today i upgraded to 2.6.14 and found that verify_area() is
deprecated(http://lwn.net/Articles/149648/). Now developers must use
access_ok(). I tried to patch lirc_sir module to be compliant with new
kernel. But when i tried use patched lirc_sir with lircd system freezes.
Is cvs version is already patched and ready to work with 2.6.14 kernel?
I have no time to track bug by myself, and i'm interested if developers
know about this problem.
