The fault was not your config file, it was mine.

The config file that irrecord built was for a 13 or 14 bit number.

The StreamZap uses 6 bit number, which is reflected properly in any of
the config files I've ever gotten via CVS.

the results coming from lircd when it was set for 13 or 14 bit number
had bits toggling (interference maybe) that had nothing to do with the
streamzap.  As soon as I had the bitmask right, it works like a CHARM.
