LIRC and Streamzap trouble under 2.6 kernels

Using this wonderful guide and drivers
(http://www.grangenet.net/~greg/streamzap.html) I was able to get my
streamzap working under 2.6 kernels (FC3). It had been working
wonderfully under 2.4, no complaints.

However, under 2.6, and these drivers.. I'm getting what I could best
call a queueing problem. LIke so:

Hit key --- nothing reported in IRW
Hit key --- two key presses reported in IRW

I see the little red light on the USB reciever flash for EACH
keypress, so I KNOW It's getting to the machine.

I'm sure this is an easy fix... Any ideas?
