I am new to lirc but I think I ahve done everything it has suggested. First of all, I got a creative infra receiver pc-dvd remote thingy. I tested it under w2k and it worked fine using com2 on a laptop. I try to get it setup under linux and I have no luck. It is a stock RH9 system and I was using 0.6.6 rpms. Here is what I did: 1) I copied the lirc.conf.creative to /etc/lirc.conf, 2) I started lircd -n, and irw and got nothing out. 3) I noticed the /dev/lirc was a link to ttyS0 and thought com2=ttyS1, right?? I changed the link to ttyS1, restarted lircd and then restarted irw and then got a signal error from the lircd window. I noticed that a setserial yields a uart on com2 as unknown. Does that mean that that port is not available or is it just not configured?? I am stuck now, Has anyone gotten to the same point I am at and worked past it? Thanks Matt |
