Sorry I am replying to a 2-month old message. I am new to this mailing
list, and have never been able to get this working correctly.
I want to be able to use buttons to toggle programs on and off. Also, I
want to be able to use buttons within modes without those buttons
affecting the base mode.
For example, when I start X I run irexec -d. Then I can press "TV"
button on my remote, xawtv starts up, and lirc switches from the base
mode to xawtv mode. I want to be able to press the "TV" button again, and
turn xawtv off. This does not work, however, no matter where I put the
"quit" directive.... It will turn xawtv off but then it just starts up
I have a hauppauge remote with very few buttons, and I use all of those
buttons within xawtv except for two. The buttons I do not use are the TV
button (since it will launch xawtv again as soon as I close it), and the
Radio button (since it will launch xmms as soon as I close xawtv).
But that means I don't have a button free to launch mplayer. Sure, I
could make it "CH+", but then when I close an instance of xawtv, an
instance of mplayer will be launched once for every single time I pressed
"CH+" in xawtv.
Is there a way to get this working correctly?
I have attached my working .lircrc. Notice that I am forced to use the
"RESERVED" key to kill xawtv, and there are no buttons free to launch
mplayer since I use all of them for the base and xawtv modes.
thanks for any help,
