Hi All, I have compiled lirc from the CVS sources. I am running kernel version 2.6.26-1-amd64. My remote is streamzap, so I loaded lirc_dev and lirc_streamzap. I start lircd and then run irw to test the remote: # /usr/sbin/lircd -n -d /dev/lirc0 lircd-0.8.3[13562]: lircd(userspace) ready lircd-0.8.3[13562]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd lircd-0.8.3[13562]: could not get hardware features lircd-0.8.3[13562]: this device driver does not support the new LIRC interface lircd-0.8.3[13562]: make sure you use a current version of the driver lircd-0.8.3[13562]: caught signal Terminated As soon as irw starts lircd is killed. I have also tried a 2.6.25 kernel with the same results. (I would run the 2.6.18 stable Debian kernel, if the nvidia onboard network chip were recognized, it is not, so I was forced to go with testing at least.) Any suggestions please? This is the last piece for the MythTv system... Thanks, Matyas - Every hardware eventually breaks. Every software eventually works. |

Check your kernel log for "ioctl32" error messages. The problem is in linux/fs/compat_ioctl.c. Christoph |
