I've built my own home-brew reveiver according to the documentation, but I
can't get it to work.
I was able to track the problem and found out that the operating voltage is
missing. According to the documentation, the lirc_serial driver should set
the RTS pin (pin 7) to high and thus provide +12V. But inserting the lirc
driver module does not change the state of the pin. It always stays at -12V.
The serial port is ok, it works when I attach my modem to it.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
I am using SuSE 8 with kernel 2.4.18. The lirc module came with the distro.
I release the serial port with setserial before loading the module and it
seems to initialize correctly (according to syslog).
Thanks for your help
