I have a MiroPC TV (Pinnacle) , with remote at serial port.
I'm on Debian sid 2.4.16 , at boot time the serial port are upped like this :
Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ SERIAL_PCI IS
ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
This settings are okei (same as bios)
I'm not loading any kernel module (the make install procedure tell me that)
I have :

Every time i push a button
Im searched the list archive and found something like that (year 2000 ),
but i cant do this work with this help, so i write you :)

Have you tried increasing the timeout value?
