since a couple of days I'm trying to get my TIRA 2.1 device to transmit
signals using a Raspberry Pi. Why is this a mystery? Well, the TIRA
transmits and record fine from my Ubuntu 14.04 notebook, it also records
on the Pi, but I cannot make it transmit on the Pi. Therefore I'm asking
for help here, since I cannot imagine further steps to debug the issue.
In order to emulate a certain remote, I first got my TIRA running on my
notebook, created a lircd.conf using irrecord ("tira_raw") and managed
to let LIRC transmit the corresponding signals using the "tira" driver
and irsend. I then installed lirc on the Raspberry, copied over the
lircd.conf and attempted to send the signals, which did not work without
any error. After some fiddling, I tried to record a new config on the
Raspberry, which worked fine but did not gain any progress.
After quite some testing, debugging and researching, I finally ended up
compiling my own version if LIRC with --enable-debug, which did not help
Please find my config attached and collected data from my debugging
My Raspberry Pi runs Raspbian Wheezy: $ uname -a
Linux autopi 3.12.20+ #687 PREEMPT Fri May 30 16:39:11 BST 2014 armv6l
On my notebook there is LIRC 0.9.0-0ubuntu5 (amd64) installed, while the
Raspberry has 0.9.0~pre1-1 (armhf). I compiled LIRC today from git on
the Pi, so there is also version 0.9.2-devel available.
The Kernel loads usbserial and ftdi_sio when the TIRA is plugged in on
both machines. The dmesg output from the Pi is attached.
I run lircd using as follows:
$ sudo ~/apps/lirc-git/sbin/lircd -n -H tira -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -o
/var/run/lirc/lircd -D1 /etc/lirc/lircd.conf
Dumping parsed option values:
$ sudo irsend -d /var/run/lirc/lircd SEND_ONCE tv_move KEY_MODE
irsend does not produce any output. The lircd.log generated by this call
As requested on the website , I'm also attaching a misc.txt file
which contains the output of various commands issued on the Pi.
I'd be very happy for any hint how to debug this issue further or
possibly even how to fix it.
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: My lircd falls back to giving no debug output at all, if I raise
the debug-level above 1. Is this desired behavior?
