I have a Hauppauge HVR950Q USB tuner device that has an IR
receiver (it comes with a Hauppauge credit-card sized remote).
The device works fine with MythTV reports that it has an IR

I've tried all the LIRC drivers included in my distribution, but the
IR receiver is not recognized by any of them. How would I go about
getting it to work with LIRC? I'm willing to do some development work,
but don't know where to even start. Note that this device is different
than the older HVR950 device.
