I’m a long time user, first time asker. I’ve used lirc with a homebrew
serial and iMON VFD, so I felt comfortable trying out the LCD. After
searching google, fighting with modules, and finally having limited
success, I guess it’s time to ask for help.
I have the Siverstone version of the original iMON LCD, and I’ve been
able to get the LCD part working with lcdproc so I know I can
communicate, but the remote is killing me. Here’s what I’ve done so far...
Downloaded, built and installed the stock 8.0.4a. It creates the devices
and the syslog looks fine. When I run mode2, it tells me to run it in
raw mode. No matter what I do, I don’t get any output.
Downloaded, built and installed cvs HEAD. I have the same problem.
I’m using the matching remote.
I seem to remember howto somewhere that had instructions on getting into
the guts and watching the raw stream, and if someone can point me to
that, I’m willing to do a bit more legwork. I don’t have an oscilloscpe,
but I do have a multimeter, so I can do some basic poking around if need
be. I’ve read through the FAQ and did a quick browse of the list
archive, but without a search, it was a bit rough. I’m totally willing
to RTFM if you can point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance
for any help.
I don't know i you have the same problem as i had, but if so, you should check
the mailing list archive for the February month and give a lecture of the last
message of "Soundgraph iMON OEM Type B with Volume knob" thread.
Basically, you've to always start two lircd, one on lirc0 and one on lirc1;
because the remote signals are distributed on both, and you can't listen only one
device without flushing the other.
