I am trying to get lirc to work with a transmitter I build. I compiled the kernel and lirc with transmitter support and I tried both with and without the software carrier option. The receiving part works fine and all the modules and lircd is loaded. But when I try to send using irsend I get an error message that my hardware does not support sending. What else could be wrong? thanks |

The only reason for this is that the used driver really does not support sending. Make sure you are really loading the correct module. Christoph |

I removed all the kernel pathches and everything is fine now - thanks. BTW I had serial support compiled into the kernel too, and that caused the ports not to be available to lirc when the module loaded. I solved this by compiling serial support as a module and I'll only load it when I need it ;) |
