if you have home made receiver and you can't make the mode2 print out
messages, then try this:
In the setup.sh try to set a IRdeo device instead of classic home-brew.
After 2 weeks of fighting with lirc and searching through the interned I
found out that it helped. I upgraded my linux from mandrake 9.0 to SuSE
9.0. And strange thing is that in mandrake it worked fine and in SuSE
didn't. This IRdeo device solved it for me.
I have QDI kudoz7 motherboard with VIA KT400 chipset.

Which probably means that you have connected your receiver output to DSR
instead of DCD.
