I'm having a strange problem.
I'm using lirc_sir module 'cause I have to use the IRDA port on my
laptop and finally got to the point I can insmod lirc_sir w/o hanging
Then, I bought an universal remote (w/ learning function).
The remote comes preprogrammed for some devices I don't know, so I tried
using irrecord to generate a config file.
Then I copied the generated file to /etc/lircd.conf , launched (as root)
lircd -n and (as user) irw. But irw stays silent for every key I press
on the remote.
I tried strace on lircd to be sure it read /etc/lircd.conf, and tried
acquiring multiple times the keys from the remote, but every time the
file is much different from the previous one :-(
What should I do ?
I thought about using rc to send codes to the remote in learning mode,
too, but couldn't make it work :-(
