I have the above mentioned remote and am slightly confused as to its
configuration with lirc. I am attempting to use this remote with a CVS
snapshot of lirc from this evening. The previous threads on this
particular remote suggests using the "PixelView" driver. Configuring
lirc with the setup script provides a "SimgaDesigns Remote" option *and*
a "Pixel View" driver option. I have tried using both the SigmaDesigns
and PixelView setting with the lircd.conf file from the contrib
directory for the SigmaDesigns remote (one at a time, of course).
What I have observed is that a "cat /dev/lirc" provides feedback when
buttons on the remote are pressed, and I can also run irrecord (which
shouldn't be necessary since I am using the included lircd.conf file)
successfully and create a configuration file. The configuration file I
can produce is *much* different than the one provided. Either there are
multiple versions of the remote or the generation of the file is
dependant on specific timings or such? I don't know.
Any other piece of software I try to use will not receive any input
from the remote (such as irexec with a proper configuration file.) I'm
basically at a loss here. Nothing special in the log, just "added
interface, removed interface" etc. No error messages. I seems that
lircd is not communicating with the device. /dev/lirc is a symlink to
/dev/ttyS1, where the receiver is attached.
If anyone can provide some clairification to my thought process,
please pitch in, as I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong.

The config file I uploaded yesterday was not correct. I hope the new one I
just uploaded will work.
