I installed lirc 0.6.5 according to a description. After having read the
docs I know, that lircd.conf should be in /usr/local/etc.
However I found a lircd.conf in /etc... so I renamed it (for a test) and
reboot. Following lines are in my /var/lg/boot.msg:
Starting daemon lircd<notice>startproc: execve (/usr/sbin/lircd) [
/usr/sbin/lircd ], [ PWD=/ BOOT_FILE=/boot/new/vmlinuz HOSTNAME=linux
CONSOLE=/dev/console vga=0x0317 PREVLEVEL=N MACHTYPE=i386-suse-linux LINES=34 SHLVL=2
COLUMNS=104 BOOT_IMAGE=Linux SHELL=/bin/bash HOSTTYPE=i386 OSTYPE=linux HOME=/
TERM=linux PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin RUNLEVEL=5
INIT_VERSION=sysvinit-2.78 _=/sbin/startproc DAEMON=/usr/sbin/lircd ]
lircd-0.6.4: could not open config file '/etc/lircd.conf'
lircd-0.6.4: No such file or directory
<notice>'/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S80lirc start' exits with status 0
Now I'm worried that lirc 0.6.4 is mentioned though I have 0.6.5 installed!
Consequently /etc/lircd.conf could not be loaded.
But my question is, why lirc does not find (or doesn't use) the config in
Thank you for any replies!
