I have an USB to IrDA converter ("Gembird"). I would
like first to ask you is it possible to use devices
like this with Lirc?
Below are the results of my attempts to start lirc
with this device:
I have installed it (the device) and it has been
recognized from my SuSe 9.1 Linux (lirc is version
"lircd 0.7.0pre1" ):
# dmesg | grep 'irda'
IrDA: Registered SigmaTel device irda0
If there is possible this device to be used with Lirc,
how should I configure it?
I've tried the following:
# modprobe lirc_sir - the module has been loaded
successfully. Of course, I'm not so sure if this is
the suitable driver for this device?
Anyway: I wrote in /etc/modules.conf the following:
alias char-major-61 lirc_sir
options lirc_sir irq=4 io=0x3e8
I got a configuration file from lirc site (my TV is
Beko, but the remote control is not the same as those
I've started licd, then I've tried to start "mode2"
and "irrecord -d /dev/lircd test.txt".
Unfortunately, they don't work for me.
mode2 don't displays any results and irrecord say:
irrecord: no data for 10 secs, aborting
irrecord: gap not found, can't continue
Could somebody take me a piece of advice?
Thanks in advance,
